Tonight's FHE
The Boulder City food bank is running low on supplies. So the local wards signed up to canvass the city and hang plastic bags on everyone's door, soliciting food donations to the bank. We grabbed some bags and a route yesterday at church, and decided to make a family night of it tonight. We invited our neighbors down the street, the Matuskas, to join us. We've been getting to be pretty good friends with them, and they had come to church yesterday for the first time in a long time. They all had plans except for their daughter, Anna, and so she came along with us. Georgey and I got out of the car and hung bags on 6 or 7 doors, but we left the bulk of the work to Chris and Anna and the girls. It was a really fun time! Afterwards, we got ice cream and talked to the girls about the service we had just performed. They didn't quite grasp that there are people who don't have money for food, but I still think it was a great opportunity to talk about how serving others is a way we follow the example of Jesus Christ. It was a lovely evening!

Grandparent's Day
One of the themes in Olive's classroom this month is Grandparent's Day. I didn't even know there was such a day, but in an effort to supplement what she's learning there we made little gifts to send to Grandma Gail & Granddaddy and to Papa & Oatsie. Our kids do have fantastic grandparents!
