The kids met their summertime learning goals! Olive learned to write her first and last name with appropriate upper and lower case letters, and she can count to 100 with a little help. Lucy learned to write her first name and count to 20. George learned to recognize the letter G and to count to 20. We have been working for and looking forward to this reward all summer. So we spent today at Cherry Hill swimming and playing, and we had a great time!

Haircut Day
Anticipating the start of Olive's school year, as well as all the kids' activities beginning next week, today was haircut day. Olive was fine, Lucy's heart was broken, and George screamed and fought. But we got it done!

Crafternoon
I made a goal to read to and do a craft with the kids each afternoon. We're calling it Crafternoon. Today we painted rocks and made a rock garden. George pooped out (we had played hard at the park earlier), but the girls had a blast. Love these kiddos.

Yesterday
I ran a race yesterday, and Chris and the kids came to cheer me on. Here's a photo of them watching the balloon launch just before the race.
Then we went to the Ogden farmers market where Chris got his hula hoop on, and Lucy made a friend, and Penelope crawled around on the ground.
Then I painted the front door.

Anniversary Date Night
Mom came up (love being close to her!) and took care of the kids while Chris and I went on our anniversary date. We did a session at the Salt Lake temple (which was so awesome, I had never done a live one before), and then came back to Ogden and ate at The Pie. It was a fun night!

Five Years Old!
Well, mine and Chris' marriage is five years old. Five years is wood, so I got him a 3-wood. I also got him a temple packet, and wrote a clever little note. But he, man oh man, he designed and commissioned this stained glass piece. It has 6 stars on it to represent our little family. I love it so much.
We've barely seen each other today, but tomorrow Mom is coming to play with the kids while we go to the temple and have a nice dinner. Love that man of mine.
a lovely new park
We found a beautiful new park today. The coolest part for me was that the Airforce jets were flying overhead doing neato tricks (look closely in the photos). We'll definitely be going there again!
