Women's Meeting

Last night was the General Women's Meeting, and Mom and all the local sisters and nieces went to it together. It was so uplifting and inspiring and I'm eager to study the talks further. Afterwards we went to Laurie's for pizza and treats and hanging out. Such a delightful time. Love all these ladies.

Our favorite park just got favoriter

The kids and I go to this park in South Weber fairly often. It's beautiful, there's usually no one else there, the playground equipment is fun, the baseball field is perfect, there's a 1/4 mile sidewalk around the place for when I didn't get my morning run in, the airforce base is just up the hill so we see jets taking off and landing. We love it. I always think of Papa and Oatsie when we go there because I know Papa would love it. There's a small train track there, and we've always wondered what that's about. Today we wanted to finally take Chris to that park with us, and we happened upon the South Weber Model Railroad Club. They give free rides one Saturday a month, so we got to do that today. Here's a video and a couple photos:

Eden

Jenny went into labor this morning, so we had Tennyson with us for the day. And Chris had a golf outing up in Eden. So we dropped him off and went 5 minutes down the road to Carvers Cove, a little petting farm. The kids got to ride a horse and feed her a carrot, and got to feed a bunch of other animals too. They had a blast! After that we had a picnic at a beautiful park nearby. It was a lovely outing, and now Ten has a sweet little baby brother. Chris and I left the kids with Lexi and snuck out to see him last night. Sweet.

So sick, and Mom's my Hero

Chris left for California on Thursday morning, and was sick when he got there. That evening, we all followed suit. It was unbelievable. Olive, Lucy, and George were all throwing up at the same time, and I was running around the house cleaning and holding hair and throwing stuff into the washer. Seriously crazy. Even Ike threw up twice. Then overnight it hit me, from 2 am until 7 am. I was really trying to be a trooper but finally called Mom in tears and said I just couldn't do it all alone. She dropped everything and came up for a day and a half, cleaning, scrubbing, feeding, driving, wrangling, comforting, listening, and doing ALL the laundry in the house (I'm talking wash, dry, fold, and put away TONS of stuff). Seriously my hero during a difficult couple of days. Jenny and Bryan dropped off Gatorade and saltines, and Bryan gave Lucy a blessing (she always seems to get it the worst). Tonight the kids and Ike and I all seem to be on the mend. We had a light dinner of ramen, popsicles for dessert (with which we said "cheers!!"), and baths all around. Now everyone is sleeping peacefully, and I'm listening to the game.

Peach Days Parade

go cats!

Once again, the girls were on the junior spirit squad, and they performed in the halftime show at tonight's game. Mom came up, and we watched them perform, and then we went out for ice cream afterwards. Such fun!!

Here's the video of their performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlWdOsc3Ft4&feature=youtu.be

swim resumes

The kids started up with swim classes again this week. They love it! Well, the girls do. Georgey loves it half the time, and is a nervous wreck about it the other half. And Penelope is just so mad she doesn't get to be in the water.

Lucy looks SO much like Cathy here!
