More Halloween Fun

We carved our pumpkins this afternoon. Chris made 2 big ones, and the kids colored on their own smaller ones.

We also went to the city trunk-or-treat this afternoon.

Me and my creative costume,
and Penelope the Pumpkin.

The kids were a hit!
Thriller was playing so we had to stop and dance!

Linda Barragan: Born circa 2009 - Died October 26, 2012

We buried Linda this morning. We think it just got too cold for her out there. George helped Chris bury her, and we all said things we remembered about her. Lucy said she liked to eat lettuce. Olive said how all the kids loved to hold her, and Chris remembered about when she was smaller Olive used to put her in her jewelry box or in her bicycle basket. George will likely not ever remember her, but he was the one who loved and enjoyed her most. He was always very excited when we'd spot her around the yard, and "turtle" and "Linda" were among the first words he ever spoke. She escaped a few times, and she pooped on our patio, but we loved her oh so much. Rest in peace, Linda. We love you.

Halloween Party at Playgroup

The Boulder City Playgroup had our Halloween party this morning. The kids got to wear their costumes, made crafts, jumped in the bounce house and on the trampoline, and ate a few treats. They had a great time!

Relaxing after the party,

What We're Doing While Dad Is Away (14)

The Hinds brought dinner over. We ate, and we chatted while the kids played. Then Ammanda and Byron cleaned up the house while I put Penelope and George to bed (they are the best kind of friends). They left, and I tucked in Olive and Lucy. And then I fell on the couch and waited for Chris. Love him, and need him, so much...

This is what 3 days alone
with 4 tiny children looks like.

What We're Doing While Dad Is Away (13)

We walked to pick up Olive from school, and then we went to the park...

Then we came home, watched Shrek, and took turns holding Penelope...

What We're Doing While Dad Is Away (12)

Olive made a nest, and we all wrestled in it...

I sent the kids on a backyard treasure hunt. They had to find something orange, something black, a leaf, a rock, and a stick. And they used the buckets they got in their McDonald's Happy Meal from last night's dinner...

George serenaded me...

Then we had lunch, and sent Olive off to school (Ammanda took her). Put George down for a nap, and then Lucy and Penelope and I cuddled in Lucy's bed, sang songs and read books...
