Another Bunch of Pictures

Craig has been doing a lot of work around the house, and Chris has been helping a bit. They're quite the handymen, and quite the comedians, when they get together.

Saturdays are full of soccer and football games, and we try to get to as many of the niece's and nephew's activities as we can. This past Saturday we made it to Dane and Brock's soccer game (they're on the same tiny team) and Ethan's football game. Here are a couple pictures.

Troy James peeking between Chris' legs.
Drew with a leafy bug in his hair.

Dane and Brock in action.
Ethan lined up and ready to go.

Chris and I hung out with Jimmy and Alisha's kids yesterday while they went to an ultrasound appointment. We played hide and seek. Chris laid in front of the couch and put a single pillow in front of him - excellent hiding spot - Layla thought it was a great idea and joined him.

We hung out with the Wards one night last week. What's better than pizza and the Wii? Well, lots of things I suppose, but it was a blast. Here's a picture of Hayley kicking Chris' butt and getting sheer delight out of it.

Number 28

Chris and I are uncle/aunt for the 28th time! Gabriel Irving Turner was born September 9th, and we think he looks like Grandma Oatsie. We can't wait to meet him. Congratulations Cathy and Joel!

The Maze of the Most Busy Life

OK, we're not presuming to have a busier life than you. In fact, I'm confident we don't. But things have been insane lately, so we have a bit of catching up to do. Here goes - I'll narrate by way of photographs.

We made a goal to visit the temple once a week, and since we're in Utah it's fun to drive a little and see all the ones around us. Here are a few shots of the Bountiful temple.

We went fishing last Saturday with Poopsie and Jessie and the Thuesons minus Bri (which means just Todd). I caught 5 fish...if you count the 2 that got away before I was done reeling them in.

Jessie, Poopsie, Todd, Chris.
I was scared to touch the fish at first, but I made myself get over it. (Here's a decent shot of my newly protruding belly as well).
Proud Chris.
Jessie and her cute new 'do...oh, and one of the fish she caught.
Seriously lovely scenery.
My classy husband.

Hooked him right through the nose.
Poopsie, the master fisherman.

Todd finally got a bite after a long day of no action.

The boys gutted while we took pictures and froze to death.

Lovely.

Azalea Brooke Eaton was blessed on Sunday.

Could she be any prettier? And they keep saying she looks like me!

Such a good looking family, and really some of our favorite people in the world to spend time with.

I've had this itch to create lately. I see things I like in the stores and I think to myself, "I could learn to make that." My latest venture was a curtain for our new bedroom window. Ashley showed me how it was done. So, here's me being totally vulnerable - making the curtains and hanging them and then sharing it all with you. They're pretty terrible (pay no attention to their utter unevenness), but it is so satisfying for me to be just creating for some reason.

In other news, we moved into our new place. Chris and Jimmy moved all our stuff in and I unpacked and organized and cleaned and beautified everything. It was a bit of a daunting task (Chris' stuff was chaos; I told him there will be no more arbitrary throwing of stuff into random boxes), but everything has a place now and it feels great to be settled in. Now if I could just get some sleep in this new place.

Chris Barragan of the Mahoney Group

I began a job in Salt lake with the Mahoney Group. I'll be helping businesses with their health, dental, and vision insurance needs. Previously I worked for Barlocker Insurance in Salinas as well as an HSA company, HealthEquity and an HRA company, Zane Benefits. I'm excited about the opportunity and I can't wait to really get moving.

So with that here's the deal, you know someone, have a business of your own or need any insurance product, it's time to give me a call.

But you say "Wait Chris my business is in California and you're in Utah can you help me?"

"Absolutely! I'll insure in all 49 state! (I do not recognize Hawaii)"

"But Chris I want life insurance in the event that I tragically die in a croquette accident. Can you help protect my family's future?"

"Yes indeed!"

"I have a business taking care of severely Autistic adults, I've never had health insurance for my business but I do have a very little Chihuahua, can you help me?"

"Of course I can!"

Our First Family Home Evening

So we had our first Family Home Evening tonight. Chris was in charge of the song and the activity, and I took care of the treats and the lesson. We started out by singing "Called To Serve" and I laughed the whole time. We said a prayer and then took turns reading from the Proclamation. We talked about that for a few minutes while we ate our dump cake, and then Chris said the activity was croquet. I said, "Hm, I don't know how to play croquet," and he said, "Neither do I." And, although we looked up the rules of play on the internet, we went outside and played our own little version of it. It took all of three minutes. With that, we had accomplished our first of countless Barragan Family Home Evenings.

Honeymoon In Vegas

Right, we got married and everything, but the pictures won't come for a while. Meanwhile, here are some pictures from our classy honeymoon in Las Vegas.

We stayed here at the Monte Carlo on the 30th floor in room 30-327. We only locked our keys in the room once, and the ease with which the security guards granted us access back into the room wasn't at all disconcerting.

Here's the view from our room at night.

Here's the view from our room in the morning.

We had dinner at ESPN Zone at the New York New York casino one night. When they found out we were on our honeymoon they put our names up on the sports ticker. Kinda cute.

It's remarkable really - you could order a girl, much like you would a pizza, and have her get to you in 20 minutes, which is actually less time than a pizza takes to get to you. I wasn't a huge fan of them reaching their arms past me to Chris so they could click their little porn gems at him (OK, I guess you can't technically call it porn with those little stars photoshopped over the nipples). I kept pushing their arms away and saying, "Get lost." I know, I know, they're just trying to do their jobs.

We went to the M&M store and took in all 4 glorious levels. The top level featured a 10-minute interactive 3D film. You cannot miss this if you go there. The professor, played by a small Asian woman, gave just an Oscar worthy performance. Terrific.

Here we are at the Las Vegas temple. The child with us isn't ours, although we would claim him because he's one of the cutest kids ever. He belongs to the Pionkes. We had dinner with them and then Amber took us to the airport the next day when it was time to leave. We hit the temple on the way to the airport. It's not one of the prettier ones I've ever seen, but at least we've seen it.

We had a really good time. It was weird though not being surrounded by tons of nieces and nephews all the time. We were glad to get back to all that, and to get on with this new thing called marriage.
